Get To Know Southern Stems
I’m Deborah Whitebird, founder of Southern Stems, a floral design studio born from a lifelong love of art, beauty, and the stories flowers can tell. For more than fifteen years, I’ve been creating floral designs that feel alive—full of movement, color, and soul.
I’m a proud Native American from the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma. Rooted in Oklahoma, I come from a long line of artists, and their creativity has influenced how I see art and how I carry forward our Native American traditions. Floral design is living art and the way I express my artistic voice. I split my time between Missouri and Oklahoma, deeply committed to giving back to the people who shaped my life by supporting tribal growth and the long-term sustainability of our community.
I carry with me a deep sense of gratitude for this work — a chance to turn nature’s fleeting beauty into something meaningful for each client.
Every arrangement is a collaboration, a celebration, and a quiet offering of gratitude. It’s a privilege to do what I love — to create beauty that moves people and moments that linger long after the flowers have faded.
